Sometimes it can seem totally impossible to figure out if a guy likes you. When you have a crush on someone, whether he's your best guy friend, a friend of a friend, or a guy that you always see around at parties and event but have never really spoken to, it can feel like you're going to go crazy if he doesn't like you back. You wish that he would just be honest and tell you yes or no because even if he wasn't interested in making you his girlfriend, then at least you would know what was up.
Sadly, that's probably not going to happen. Guys can be confusing AF. When a guy likes you, he'll definitely act a certain way, and do certain things that will make you realize that he's got it bad. The same thing is totally true if he just sees you as a friend and isn't into you romantically. It's super exciting to realize that he feels the same way But you want to know, don't you?
Of course. You're going nuts and you need to solve this mystery ASAP. We're here to help. Read on to find out the 10 things that he does if he wants you and the 10 things that he does if he doesn't! It's one thing for a guy to ask you some questions about what's going on with you lately, like how work is and how your running routine is going. It's totally another for a guy to follow up on those questions later on. If he does this, it proves that he's got it bad for you because he not only wants to know things about you, but he remembers what you've been talking about.
He thinks about you a lot and considers you an important person in his life. He honestly cares about how you're doing and whether things are going well for you, and that says a lot about his feelings for you. After all, you probably ask him questions, too, and follow up on them days later. It's the same thing. This is a tricky one because if you're hanging out with a group of people and that includes the guy that you're majorly crushing on, you figure that at least the two of you are spending time together.
But you're not really spending time together because you're not alone. If he'll only hang out with you when there are other people around, you can take that as a surefire sign that he doesn't have any romantic intentions as far as you're concerned. Remember that if he did like you, he would make sure that he got some one-on-one time with you at least some of the time so he could see if you felt the same way about him.
That's not what's happening here at all. When a guy has a thing for you, he'll want to talk to you all the time and as often as possible. He won't necessarily have a good conversation starter at the top of his mind or really know what to say to you. Thanks for the response!!
You're right it is the first time we've seen each other since 9th grade over 10 years ago and hi best friend is like a brother to me, so don't think he would play around but niether one of us have told any of them we are "talking", but we have joked, however I've also mentioned his sleeping on the sofa, and he asked twice before I said yes.
I'm just skeptical because I still find it bizare that someone would drive over miles day before their bday for a date. I find it quite cute that it's going to be the first time you've seen each other since being freshman in high school. Especially since how much people change from their high school days, I believe that people grow so much more and mature and that's great you're both on that level now.
If none of your shared friends know that you are interested in each other then I can't really judge his character anymore than they could since they aren't aware. He probably joked about the sofa thing because he wanted to make sure.
But since you said the sofa comment he's probably at least hoping for some cuddling. And the fact that you told him he will be spending the night on the couch and yet he's still willing to drive miles on his birthday shows how much of a true gentleman he is. I sincerely hope everything goes well. Thanks for the response guys!
It does make me feel a bit better. I also went ahead and asked a mutual friend, whos like a brother to me and wouldn't lie to me, about him, and he didn't have anything bad to say about the guy. So, so far so good. We have tons of mutual friends from our hometown, and we've talked over the phone for over a month, and now he's coming down, on his birthday, to spend it with me Share Facebook.
Would a guy travel out of state just to see you if he wasn't looking for something serious with you? Add Opinion. I highly doubt he wants to come down to see you for sex.
You should know him a little bit better than that by now if you've been talking for over a month on the phone and you both know mutual friends.
It's probably your first time meeting with him? Based off of your summary. Which makes it even more unlikely that he just wants to hook up.He's all over you one second, not calling you the next, isn't putting labels on your relationship and keeps making excuses to keep you around? I mean, yes, OK, he kind of is a little bit.
How to Tell if a Guy Is Excited to See You
He probably thinks you're hot and entertaining to some degree. He wants to keep you around. He doesn't like the idea of you moving on. How will he call you up for pussy if you go off and find a boyfriend? But he certainly doesn't want you to be his girlfriend.
If he makes you wonder, "Is he playing games? Is he interested? I don't know what he wants! He doesn't. He isn't ghosting you because he's coy; he's ghosting you because he doesn't want to deal with telling you he's over it.
But trust me, he's over it. This sucks to hear. It blows. I know that. I spent hours and weeks and copious amounts of energy pouring over past conversations and text messages trying to figure out what he wanted.
Would a guy drive six hours to see a girl he claims he has no feelings for?
I thought, If I just stick it out, these guys will figure out how great I am. It sucks, but c'est la vie. If he's not knocking down the door, stop wasting your time. There is no gray area. Everything is black and white. If he's into you, he will see you. If he wants to make it happen, he will make it happen. But there are. I didn't meet a good guy who loved me until I decided that was the only thing I would take.
Men don't have to play games when it comes to dating. They don't sit around plotting every move, every text and everything they say the way we do. They just say it like it is. And if they don't do that, it's because they don't even think you're worth dealing with. Guys have two modes: looking for a girlfriend or not looking for a girlfriend.Being able to tell if a guy is excited to see you is pretty straightforward, but can be tricky at times. There are usually some pretty basic signs to indicate his interest and excitement, but if you find yourself still wondering if he is thrilled to be in your presence, look for the following hints the next time you see him.
Soon you will be an expert at reading a guy's body signals. Notice if he lights up when he sees you. If a guy noticeably brightens up when he sees you, he is excited to be in your presence. There is hardly a more telling sign than a guy who just seems to glow when he notices you. He may start smiling more, laughing a lot or just generally seem more joyful. You know you make a guy happy when he is ecstatic just to be around you.
Observe if he talks a lot around you. Guys tend not to talk as much as girls, but if he talks a lot around you, especially if he is talking to you, he is excited to see you. This is the case because he will be stimulated by your mere presence and want to be noticed by you. Compare the amount of time he spends talking with you with the amount of time he talks with those around you. If a guy seems to have an endless stream of comments whenever he is around you, he is likely excited to see you.
Detect his interest in knowing more about you. If a guy asks you a bunch of questions about yourself or seems to care a lot about you, he is probably excited to see you. If he approaches you, looks you in the eye, smiles and just wants to spend time getting to know you, this is a telling sign of his interest and excitement. Notice if he is talking more about himself, or asking you about your life; the latter is a more obvious indicator of interest. Pick up on the fact that he can't sit still.
If he is truly excited to be around you, he may not be able to sit still. His testosterone is likely flowing, his hormones are reacting and his heart is racing. If he is bouncing around, speaking loudly or driving quickly, he is likely energized by the fact that you are nearby. Pay attention to the way his energy level peaks when you enter a room.
Discern if he wants to hang around you. If you always find yourself encountering him, he may be deliberately trying to be in places that you will be, and if he is always in your general vicinity at a party or gathering, he may want to be near you. This also applies to groups; if he always ends up around people you hang out with, he likely cannot get enough of your presence. She is currently pursuing her Master of Arts in education from the University of Nebraska.
He will light up around you if he is excited to see you. Meet Singles in your Area! Try Match. View Singles Near You.

When Is It Too Soon To Travel With Your Boyfriend Or Girlfriend? An Expert Weighs In
My family would even mention how they never saw him and made notice that it seemed that I was the only one making an effort to see him. I had to remind both them and myself his situation. It was definitely more convenient for me to travel than for him to. Now in your situation, I understand both sides. Your boyfriend probably thinks it would be an unnecessary hassle for him to go see you when you could just go see him since he lives in your hometown where presumably you can visit your family and him at the same time.
This goes for his infrequent calling as well.
Most certainly, you should express your feelings about this with him without accusing him of being uninterested in you. As convenient has his situation is, by living in your hometown, he still should show some effort. Suggest that he at least go to see you x number of times, less frequent than your trips to see him, but enough to make you feel satisfied that he is putting in the effort. Another option is to suggest that he help pay for you to see him, whether it be to pay for half your gas, or half your plane ticket.
That way he can at least put in some effort to see you without necessarily making the trip himself. This could be a compromise. However, from what you said, he does sound interested in you and he does sound like he cares about you. I can see his point of how it is easier for you to travel to your hometown. I know I would be very upset if I was the one doing all the driving, or flying, to go see Michelle, and I am sure she feels the same way as she did a good amount of traveling so we could see each other.
Now, when you are traveling to see him, I hope you two share the cost of the travel evenly. If you are doing the traveling, and spending the money, that is not fair either. You are in the relationship together, so you should handle the costs together. If you split the price, I see no honest reason why your boyfriend can not visit you. Speak to him. Let him know that you feel that he can say he loves you and is crazy about you all he wants.
Until he makes a visible, physical effort to see you at your house, you can not feel that he totally loves you. Poets write of love making you travel hundreds of miles by foot to see the one they adore. Even for a few days. That little effort will probably mean everything to you, and you will know that he really does care and is worth the effort.
Be straightforward when talking to him, but not too harsh when telling him your problem. I think this will help you in getting him to come.
I've let a man rule my emotions for nearly 16 years now, he only lives an hour away so it's not long distance. I don't have a car or the income to travel to see him.I heard a friend I've known for a while say this recently, and it took a lot of patience to not have a violent reaction to it. I realized that he is just one of those guys who would never understand long-distance relationships.
These are the guys you should never even dare to date long distance. I find it really sad when people say something negative about LDRs. If dating men who live far away is something you really like to do, or if you, like me, who believe that meeting the man of my life is not limited by distance, there are things you have to consider first. You have to be very critical. Determine which kinds of men you should never bother dating long distance and which are worth having a relationship with.
I have probably dated three or four men who live on different sides of the world. Each relationship had its good sides and bad sides. But they are each the type of man I would never, ever bother dating again. This is the guy who would constantly think that it is never going to work out if you just stay in an LDR for a long time. He may tell you he really likes you, but he just does not see any future with you if you do not live in the same place at the same time.
The pessimistic one includes my friend who always says negative things about long-distance dating. Will Gittens - A Day With You
If you date a guy who always says negative things, then it would also probably make you feel bad all the time, and it would not make for a good long-distance relationship. This guy really likes you, and he wants things to work out between the two of you, but he is just not sure about it. It is kind of difficult to deal with this kind of guy since his uncertainty will most definitely affect how you feel about your relationship.
The guy you date must be able to provide stability in your relationship. If he is unsure about what he wants, then you will also constantly worry about it. That is not something you would want in a long-distance relationship. When we get into any kinds of relationship, we, of course, hope that we could make future plans with the person we are with. We want to have something we can look forward to. If you are in an LDR, planning visits, thinking of things to do when you are apart and when you are togetherand, of course, closing the distance are some of the important things we do.
If someone you are trying to get into a relationship with does not have any definite plans and cannot give you any concrete details about what he wants to do in the future, then that will make long-distance dating very difficult. Instead, this guy would probably always make things be a little bit more complicated and hard for you. One day, this guy is all over you, sending you so many messages asking what you are doing just to get your attention.I received a message from someone the other day that made me realize the importance of covering this topic.
The message was as follows:. Like they become so busy they just settle for video and texting all day and then never seeing each other? This happened to me for 4 months — and I finally was like, not settling for this!
We can spend all day long talking about ways to know a man is interested in youbut in the long run, there is only one thing that actually matters. You could get a good morning text every morning. A goodnight text every night. Flowers sent to your work. Have conversations all day. Receive cheek-reddening compliments on a consistent basis. No excuses, lies, or broken promises. Of course, this is assuming there is reasonable distance between the two of you. I know, for me, when I meet a woman who captures my attention, the texting and all of the fun stuff that goes along with it is great, but all it really does is increase my desire to actually see her and spend time with her in person.
That type of communication should supplement the relationship, not be the largest part of it. The longer he waits to attempt to make actual plans with you, the less interested you can assume he is.
How about Saturday? The right man who is genuinely interested in building a relationship with you will invest his time in making it happen. He will invest his time in coming to see you. He will invest his time in meaningful conversations. Want direct help from me to make sure you are dating a winner instead of a loser? This is true. And if you initially met online, what period of time should reasonably elapse before he makes an initiative to meet up in real life? Some men may feel more comfortable inviting you out right away, just as some men would feel more comfortable approaching a woman in person than others would. I really think it comes down to instinct and whether you are feeling as though he is actually trying to work towards something with you or just having fun with conversation.
